One of the benefits of staying in God’s presence is being sure of his protection. The psalmist sings in psalm 103:1-2 “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Being in Christ as David says, has benefits to enjoy. I was reading a certain Cristian magazine of what happened to some sister, when the twin Towers was bombed in September 11 in the USA. God proved in so many occasions to his people that he protects his own. By this, I don’t mean the Christians who died had been left by God but one of the best testimonies I heard was of this sister who was in one of last floors in that building. As she went on with her normal work, she heard a direct voice from God saying” Come out of this building and run for your life! Instead of running out, she thought of her workmates and went to his colleagues in other offices to alert them of this. She told them “Let’s go out of this place.
God is saying i leave and please let’s leave. She tried to beg them but all laughed her to scorn and thought she was crazy. The Lord again spoke to her the 2nd time to leave, and in a much commanding voice” I said run for your life and be out of this building completely in the next fifteen minutes!. The sister obeyed and off to the lift she went. As she was still running away from the building, the first attack occurred. She stood where she was and just cried but her office colleagues died in the same attack.
In Genesis 19, the same happened to Lot. Before the destruction of Sodom, the angels gave him an offer to save his family. Genesis 19:12 says “the angels questioned Lot. “Do you have any other relatives here in the city?” they asked. “Get them out of this place—your sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone else.
In verse 14, the bible says” “So Lot rushed out to tell his daughters’ fiancés, “Quick, get out of the city! The Lord is about to destroy it.” But the young men thought he was only joking. At dawn the next morning the angels became insistent. “Hurry,” they said to Lot. “Take your wife and your two daughters who are here. Get out right now, or you will be swept away in the destruction of the city!
If this was not enough warning, still lot delayed to leave and verse 16 says,” When he hesitated, the men (angels of God) grabbed his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!
Saint of God, being in Christ is so beneficial. Is a sure faith and a sweet taste in our mouth. People may scorn, not get you clearly, think you’re joking and even accuse you of being so spiritual that you’ve no earthly value but, don’t give up on God. He his people from destructions, protects and leads your way in everything you do and if a problem arises, like this sister realized-and Lot in Genesis, “the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the Day of Judgment. 2 Peter 2:9.May the Lord protect you from the wicked as you walk with him in Jesus name.
