THE BLESSING OF GENEROUSITY

When God meets our needs, we have no option but to meet also the needs of those around us. If you have been in need before, and someone you valued as a friend came in handy for you, you must have felt such deep love, appreciation within that you could not even understand. Such people actually many times look at that point as angels of God. Actually, we have been placed on this earth for two reasons.
1:To meet the needs of others and
2:for others to meet our needs.
The modern world’s system says, “save and have more for you-(which is good), but the bible says Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. (Reason) For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”. This means, your level of giving determines your level of blessing. Luke 6:38
In the book of Luke 12:13-21, Jesus gives a parable of a rich man, whose ground yielded an abundant harvest.  He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’

“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry. Luke 12:13-21 The problem with this man was not having much, but all he wanted after harvesting so much, was to just sit, relax and eat alone what he had.”’“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? Vs 20.This is the only rich man in scripture whom God calls a fool directly, and the reason is simple, he cared about his needs alone, than the needs of others. He only saw his needs as important, than look around to see which other society needs than he can meet. If he did think of others, he would have seen the need to farm more, because global needs keep increasing as the day goes-by.

Whenever God has given you enough to satisfaction in this life, the next question to ask yourself is “who’s needs must i meet? Our love for God is measured by how we respond to other people’s needs. The Bible says “If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion–the bible asks, how can God’s love be in that person? [1 John 3:17]. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. [Proverbs 11:25]
When Israel was facing famine, God miraculously provided by leading four leprous men to the enemies’ camp. The hunger in them was to much and they wondered as they said to each other, “Why stay here until we die? If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die.” [2 Kings 7:3-4]
That step of going to the enemies’ camp was a daring act that was led by God, thus they got the food, because God magnified their steps to levels that the Aramean army thought a host is attacking them. They left all their food and every good thing behind but what i like about this lepers is this, after eating to their fill, they said to each other “What we are doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let’s go at once and report this to the royal palace. ”So they went and called out to the city gatekeepers and told them, “We went into the Aramean camp and no one was there—not a sound of anyone—only tethered horses and donkeys, and the tents left just as they were.” gatekeepers shouted the news, and it was reported within the palace.[2 Kings 7:9-10].When you continue reading, you realize the abundance of food providence that Israel got, was courtesy of the four men who cared to think about their own people’s hunger plight.
My question to us all is this, what need do you feel led by the Lord to meet? Has God brought some school girl without fees your way? Has he led you to support a certain ministry work? Whatever God puts in your heart, always remember God created us to for each other. Our world is needy and desperate for help. Some people need free counselling –others needs schooling. Whatever God calls you to do, always be available for his people and their needs, and you’ll be blessed. God bless you
