One thing you may have noticed, if you have been a believer for some time, is that in one way or another, you will go through some kind frustration. All of us go through frustration. It may be a loss of a job, a marriage in crisis, disobedient children or anything that drives your mind to the corner of despair and frustration. Being born again does not exempt you from this. God only give you enough grace to go through such situations. Jesus Said in the world, you will find trouble, but he never left it at that point, he said but be of good cheer, i overcame the world. [John 16:33]. In 1st Samuel 30, David was fully frustrated. He had lost all he had, both wealth and family. The people around him, who were despaired as he was, were actually thinking of stoning him. The good thing about David is this, he never allowed the circumstances in his life to dictate his feelings. The bible records at that point, “David encouraged himself in the Lord. [1 Samuel 30:6] David was not alone; Jeremiah was in the same shoes. His life was continually in danger. Every message he had for the people of God was always getting rejected. It’s Jeremiah, whom most bible Scholars would say, he never got any convert, and if he got any, they never stayed long before turning against him. He persevered in ministry and even secretly thought of keeping away from preaching God’s word. He cried in frustration “You deceived me, Lord, and I was deceived; you overpowered me and prevailed. I am ridiculed all day long; everyone mocks me. Whenever I speak, I cry out proclaiming violence and destruction. So the word of the Lord has brought me insult and reproach all day long. [Jeremiah 20:7-8] The amazing thing is, with all that frustration, he confessed” if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name, ”his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot. [Jeremiah 20:8-10] Saint of God, regardless of the frustrations in your life, can you like Jeremiah confess God’s word is shut within your bones and you are weary of holding it in? Again, in the midst of all the troubles surrounding you, have you ever encouraged yourself in the Lord, as David did? Troubles will come and your foundations of life may be shaken but when you read and meditate on God’s word, your base of faith is set and thus, like Jeremiah, you will have a word for every moment, when frustration knock at the door of your life. Don’t allow circumstances to dictate your reaction. Allow God’s word to speak over every situation and you will find solace for your soul. God bless you
