If you don’t stand out for anything, it’s said, you will fall to anything. This Life is all about making choices. God created us with the unique ability to choose. God loved us enough to allow us the freedom to make choices. Of course our choices can either be good or bad .You can’t say i don’t know what to do, because, in every circumstance in life, you have a choice to make. When we were in the campaign mood sometime back, some American representative to Kenya was clear, “Choices have consequences, “It was a clear warning that the better our choice, the better our life will.
Indeed it’s true. The choices that we make in life alter the course of our lives. Sure, there are the mundane little choices we make each day that don’t cause much of a ripple overall, but it’s important to be aware of all the choices we are making and to consider the consequences that these actions (or inactions) make.
We make good choices in life when we weigh up possibilities and consequences, stay true to our morals and values and ensure that fears and doubts aren’t impacting our decisions.
Your life will never improve if you wonder on choices and seat on the fence. According to God, we only have two options when it comes to him. You can choose to love him or choose not to. Moses told the children of Israel,” I call heaven and earth to testify against you today! I’ve set life and death before you today: both blessings and curses. Choose life, that it may be well with you—you and your children. (Deuteronomy 30:19)
Whichever decision we make, our choices affirms our beliefs, aspirations and goals for life. Someone did not just become gay, lesbian or even a prostitute-they made a choice to be what they’re right now. When Israel was in captivity, King Nebchadnezzar set up a golden image, and demanded everyone to bow and worship it. If they did not, they would be cast into the fire. Meshack, Shadrack and Abednego had to make a quick decision. Their decision was fully backed by their faith in God. The Law of Moses demanded they bow to no image, nor man except the God of heaven. They refused to worship the golden image. The King was alerted of their disobedience and the bible says,”Nebuchadnezzar was angry with rage and summoned Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego to be brought before him. He asked them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that you refuse to serve my gods or to worship the gold statue I have set up? They replied Oh, king Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.(Daniel 3:1-18) .
God later defended them and saved their life. The king had no option but demand that all people, should worship the God of Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego. When the children of Israel were wavering in their faith, Joshua told them “if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.”(Joshua 24:15)
Saint of God, You cannot control the behavior of others, but you can always choose how you respond to it. Again, what decision must you make today? You may be dating someone who is driving you further away from the God you once served, and wondering, how will this man\woman feel if i leave him? The thing is, you have to decide. Life was to be enjoyed and not tolerated. God wants you to decide. Decisions hurt but the earlier you decide, the better it will be for you. Let us all, in this faithless society, be firm in our decisions for the Lord and like Joshua, says for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.
The Lord is waiting on us all to make decisions, however hurting they may look, that will bring the glory of his great name. He defended the three Hebrew boys and i know, he will defend you. The choice lies in your hands. Have a blessed day
