Bitterness is one of the most contagious diseases affecting the church of Jesus Christ today. Joyce Mayor, says “being of a bitter spirit and an angry heart is like drinking poison and expecting your enemy to die! It’s impossible friend. At the end of the day, It’s you who will die and not your enemy!.
Yes, it’s true that people can hurt and sometimes, it goes down into the deeper part of our being and can easily disable our operation. Bitterness i assure you penetrates more than a sword but friend, God warns us against being bitter in spirit.
It’s not only God who warns us against bitterness but even now, it has also been proven medically that one of the major causes of ulcers in people is bitterness, worry and anger.
Joyce continues to say “when you release people who hurt you and were angry with, you realize you have set a captive free, and that captive is “you”.
Infact, bitterness has the same effect like leprosy in the Old Testament. God, in the Old Testament, commanded Moses to tell Israel this about leprosy. “Command the people of Israel that they put out of the camp everyone who is leprous or has a discharge and everyone who is unclean through contact with the dead. You shall put out both male and female, putting them outside the camp, that they may not “DEFILE” their camp, in the midst of which I dwell.”( “Numbers 5:1-3.) In the New Testament, it’s written “Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, “DEFILING” many. (Hebrews 12:15)Bitterness like leprosy, defiles people.
Saint of God, who has hurt you so much that you can’t stand them anymore! Please, forgive them and release them. Let go and let God , otherwise, it will soon affect you more and defile many in the church that Jesus bought with his blood. Let not leprosy enter the church of Jesus because of your bitterness. Don’t be a carrier of this great disease that defiles! For your safety, as Jesus instructed, forgive and forgive and if it looks too much, remember that mathematics that Jesus gave us.77*7.I don’t think God will even allow the person to hurt you more than that but just forgive for your safety and to the glory of God.
